Actors: Sophia Loren, Stephen Boyd, Alec Guiness, James Mason, Christopher Plummer
Rating: 6 out of 10, doesn’t compare well with modern efforts but awesome battle scenes with actual extras. This is very long with major overacting by Loren and Mason. Believe this was the genesis for the much, much better Gladiator, although historically speaking this is much closer to what actually happened. Too much melodrama with the everything taking much too long to get to the point.
MVP: Boyd as the heroic Roman general Livius
